Qualifications

Sharon Mills holds a Master`s degree in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Post Graduate Diploma in clinical supervision for individuals and groups since 2007. Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling, Combined Certificate in Counselling Skills and Therapeutic Counselling. Diploma in child development (NNEB).

ET01 Teaching Certificate. She participates in 30 hours of training every year to maintain her accreditation as a psychotherapist/therapist. Qigong Masters training & teaching course in progress 2023.

She is accredited with BACP (MBACP governing body for British Association for Psychotherapists, Counsellors & Therapists).

Active & full member S.L.P. LU - Luxembourg since 2009. She is UKRCP Reg-013007 since 2007.

Accredited/Certified therapist with the Family Institute Luxembourg, as a Child therapist (persons under 26 years).

SECO AI/CE 201306/85 Fully Insured and accepted by the Ministére De L'Enseignement Superieur et de la Recherche, to practice in Luxembourg.

Previous Experience:

Previously, I have worked in mental health settings, social services, universities and colleges, the criminal service supporting victims of crime through court, the police service - with victims of rape and abuse. I also worked in nursing and residential settings for the mentally and physically disabled . For 22 years I worked with (and fostered) young people with learning difficulties, physical/mental disabilities, specialising in Autism and Asperger’s with high functioning and neurodiversity issues. I also supported one parent families, together with therapy. I developed and managed my own psychotherapy, supervision and training business in the UK before moving to Luxembourg. I specialised in therapy with survivors of childhood abuse in the UK - providing psychotherapy for adults, children and adolescents.

    • Body-Mind Psychotherapy (BMP) is a somatic-cognitive approach to therapy and emotional-focused Therapy. The body & mind work together and the body can give us many signals, if we listen.

    • Systemic work and decoding the family dynamics from childhood

    • Working with imagery, visualisations and the unconscious parts

Ethical standards are very important in promoting safe and professional counselling and therapy practices. These are important in order that clients receive a professional level of service. Professional accountability is also key in ensuring public protection and allows the profession to move forward enjoying the public confidence in the services provided. Professional Standards

Accreditation is part of the Professional Standards department at BACP. BACP accredit individual psychotherapists/therapists, supervisors, counselling services and training courses. I have all my certificates 'on show' in my office for clients to see and please ask if any clarification is needed. Every year training for 30 hours to withhold the accreditation status.
